New friends

It’s been a few years since I’ve kept hens and I have to say I’ve missed their chattery, non demanding company and their carefree attitude to their daily routine. And that’s not mentioning their fresh eggs – already 12 eggs in two days from my 10 ex barn hens is pretty good in my books!
And for those who are keen garden compost makers, you will appreciate my excitement at having a fresh supply of ‘hen pen’ – a perfect ingredient for my compost heap!!

They’re beautiful! Happy hens!
Love my back garden hens – kept a few hens for years and years. I also have a crazy fluffy-feathered cockerel called Boris.
Hi! No plans for a ‘friend’ for the girls. I did have the most handsome bantam cockerel once – he was named Ulrik!! Joan
